Rains Cottage: Waterfront

Overall, a very nice and comfortable stay and would visit again. Positive: This was a home, so there is no breakfast. The home was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was fairly well stocked for preparing meals at home. Nothing in Cedar Key was very far away. Very pleasant and comfortable overall! Negative: The photos didn’t really show just how close the home sat to the road which could be an issue if taking your pets for a walk or if you had small children. One odd thing about the layout was that you had to go thru the bathroom to get to the bedroom. If you needed something from the bedroom and someone was using the bathroom, you had to wait until they were finished to access it. One interesting thing though; I tried to book it thru McCormick Management, the folks who manage it and I was told that it wasn’t available. However, when looking at other options, Booking.com had it listed as available and was actually able to book it thru them for the same dates. Not sure where the breakdown was there.

A lovely place to relax and enjoy the local food. Everyone was very friendly. Had a great time.

The Rains Cottage was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the view of the water and watching the oyster beds appear at low tide and the water birds. So glad we brought our binoculars. We had a very relaxing trip.

Very comfortable and welcoming. Cedar Key is one of the friendliest we have visited. We will definitely stay again. Most likely sooner than later.
