Perfect for a couples getaway. Location was perfect. Bring your fishing poles. When renting your golf cart be sure to tell them you need a gas cart as there is no plug outside of the cottage.

Love staying here! McCormick is awesome to work with and the location is always well stocked and clean! This is our 3rd or 4th year staying here and we will continue to come back!

Honest review of Raines Cottage -Communication was excellent, location was beautiful when tide is high. We traveled with our baby and noticed immediately at our arrival the house was warm. Hosts allowed us to use a portable unit they provided, but house overall was still not comfortable and had to drain the condensate from the unit often. We decided not to stay the second night due to us and our baby being uncomfortable with the temperature inside. If you are there to fish or kayak, just know you are very limited by the tide. At low tide you are in the mud and unable to fish or bring your kayak in if you didn’t time it just right with the tide. Parking is not ideal. Location does have great proximity to local restaurants. One tiny trash pick-up bin up front that was already full at our arrival. Overall it was a disappointing stay due to the house being hot, the location being well into the mud at lower tide, and not to mention we paid double the rate (approx 900 for two night stay including fees) for the holiday weekend (4th of July) for this experience.

Parking was eh, we didnt know where to park because it wasnt communicated but we figued it out and guessed. The house was very very hot the whole time while we were here. The back porch was full of spiders and spider webs and looks like the rails was maybe redo recently and parts werent even nailed down. Besides that the place was very clean, and cute and a nice little place. Asking for a tip when we already pay so much in fees is a little much though.

Choosing to stay at Rains cottage was perfect! Location to the downtown shops and restaurants worked wonderfully and we loved the view of the water from the back dock. Our pup loved watching the birds and jumping fish. The three of us were very comfortable and appreciated feeling at home during our stay in Cedar Key. Two enthusiastic paws up from the dog, and my husband and I both had a relaxing few days away. Definitely recommend.
